Graham Potter Reportedly Agrees To Become Chelsea New Coach

 Graham Potter, the manager of Brighton & Hove Albion, has consented to lead Chelsea, according to close sources.

Following Thomas Tuchel's dismissal, the 47-year-old began negotiations with Chelsea on Wednesday. According to sources, the negotiations went well, and he was given the opportunity to succeed the German at Stamford Bridge.

Paperwork is currently being created after Potter is thought to have verbally agreed to take over and shaken hands on the transaction.

Reports suggest that, Chelsea wants the deal closed by Thursday. If no problems arise, Potter will assume leadership ahead of this weekend's Fulham-Derby match.

As was reported on Wednesday, Todd Boehly, a co-owner of Chelsea, had been in charge of the search since the first indications of problems with Tuchel.

Potter was always the top pick for Chelesa, and Boehly and the rest of the club's management felt they had their man after meeting him at their initial meeting. Boehly always desired a prompt appointment, and that is exactly how things have transpired.

Zinedine Zidane, Diego Simeone, and Ruben Amorim were among those mentioned, but Mauricio Pochettino—who has been jobless since leaving Paris Saint-Germain—was the other serious candidate.

However, Boehly and the rest of the board were so impressed with Potter throughout the interview process that they decided to hire him immediately after the meeting.
