Some "Heroic Acts" From Some Star Footballers Dedicated Towards Danish Midfielder Christian Eriksen.

It was an emotional night in the world of football at the ongoing Euro 2020 tournament which kicked-off on Friday June 11.


Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen suffered a major health scare during their Group B opener against Finland on Saturday aftrrnoon June 12. 

During the 40th minute of the match, Eriksen collapsed on the ground at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen without a touch from anybody, and looked unconscious.


Simon Kjaer immediately ran the length of the pitch towards Eriksen and sprung into action: he took Eriksen's pulse, he made sure that his tongue was not blocking his airway, placed him in an upright position and started CPR before beckoning on the medics to arrive quickly.

That quick act was very vital for the medical staff who arrived immediately, and According to reports, in a period of convulsion, the tongue becomes the hardest muscle in the body and prevents air from reaching the lungs.



The 32-year-old Denmark national team captain Kjaer, has since then been praised as a “HERO” after rushing to help teammate Christian Eriksen following his terrifying collapse on the pitch.


The AC Milan Centre-back Kjaer was also seen comforting Eriksen's partner, Sabrina Kvist Jensen who was already in tears, at the side of the pitch as he received medical treatment, before creating a protective wall with his other teammates around their stricken teammate.

 

Football fans said he may have “saved his life” after stabilising him and starting CPR, and praised him as an "absolute legend" for his quick thinking on playing a pivotal role in saving Eriksen's life.


Another "Heroic Act" on the day was from the English referee Anthony Taylor who precided over the game.


The 42-year-old experienced Premier League official acted swiftly and decisively to stop the game and rush medics onto the field of play after the Denmark's midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed suddenly.

Anthony Taylor's role is deserving of credit, as he received praises from football lovers accross the world for his calm and swift response in the aftermath of the incidence.


Such a serious and unexpected incident calls for emergency protocol to be deployed, with the officials, medics and players of each side deserving immense credit for how they handled the situation.


Fans were also left in awe with the actions of goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and the way he reacted to the events that unfolded. 


The 34-year-old Leicester City man Lead the call for medical attention for Eriksen, went over to console his wife when she entered the pitch, and lead the forming of the shield around Eriksen. 


The match was suspended as Eriksen was taken off the field after 10 minutes on the pitch receiving medical Care. 

Picture showed Eriksen sitting up on stretcher, as he raised his hand after horrifying collape.

The ex-Tottenham midfielder was rushed to a Copenhagen hospital and is now able to speak in a stable condition, UEFA confirmed.

Eriksen's fellow Inter Milan teammates Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi also dedicated their goals later on the day with a heartwarming and emotional tribute to him.

The Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku, helps his side to a confortable 3-0 win in the other Group B opener between Belgium and Russia.

He opened scoring for Belgium in the 10th minute, and went on to rush to the cameras and shouted: "Chris, Chris... I love you!"


Chelsea and PSG target Acraf Hakimi who also plays alongside Eriksen at Inter Milan, also dedicated his only goal to Eriksen.

Morocco defeated Burkina Faso 1-0 in Saturday’s international friendly staged at the Prince Moulay Abdullah Stadium.

Achraf Hakimi’s second half effort separated both teams as the Atlas Lions stay unbeaten in their last nine games in all competitions.

The 22-year-old Inter star curled in a beautiful freekick past goalkeeper Herve Koff in the 51st minute to give Morocco the win.

He dedicated his finish to Christian Eriksen who wears the number 24 shirt for Inter, both players were part of the squad that lifted the Serie A title in the just cincluded season.


Meanwhile, We understand that Eriksen was further given urgent treatment and medical care at the hospital. 

Reports say that he briefly spoke to his Denmark teammates when he was conscious in hospital and gave his blessing for them to finish the match that evening.


The initial suspended Group B game between Denmark vs Finland finally be resumed with Finland eventually defeating Denmark 1-0.

Denmark dominated the match before and after the traumatic incident, but Finland striker Joel Pohjanpalo headed home the winner on the hour with his side's only attempt of the game.

The match being overshadowed by Eriksen's incidence, saw Pohjanpalo not celebrate the goal in what was Finland's first major tournament appearance.
