Kylian Mbappe Reveals That He Was An AC Milan Fan When He Was Young.

PSG star Kylian Mbappe reveals that he was an AC Milan fan when he was young and stressed that he had promised he would never play for any other team should he ever move to Italy.

The France international, who has recently extended his contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2025, broke down the reasons that led him choose to support the Rossoneri when he was a kid.

A picture of Mbappé wearing a Milan shirt when he was a kid had become viral over the last few weeks, so Mbappé was asked his thoughts on the Rossoneri, who have just won the 19th Scudetto in their history.

"My connection with AC Milan is special," Mbappe told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"As a child I had an Italian nanny and spent a lot of time with her family, who were all AC Milan fans. So, thanks to them, I also cheered for the Rossoneri and watched a lot of AC Milan games, and I’ve become a fan.

"I used to say: if I ever play in Italy, it will only be at Milan. If I had said something different, they would have killed me…

"On a serious note, I can only congratulate them on the Scudetto won by AC Milan, where I have many French friends and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a legend that I respect a lot."

AC Milan were crowned the 2021/22 Serie A title on Sunday for the first time in 11-years, and dethroning rivals Inter Milan in the process.

The 2018 World Cup winner also claimed that he spoke to Liverpool before extending his contract with the Ligue 1 giants until 2025 last Saturday, snubbing an offer to join Spanish champions Real Madrid.

“I spoke to Liverpool because it’s my mum’s favourite club. I don’t why she supports the Reds, you should ask her.

“Jokes aside, they are a great club. I had already met them five years ago when I was playing for Monaco. We briefly spoke this time, but in the end, the choice was between Real Madrid and PSG. Everyone knows that I wanted to go to Madrid last summer because I thought it was the right choice.”

When asked why he did suddenly reject Real Madrid’s offer to extend with PSG? Was it all about the money? Mbappe said;

“Things have changed. I am French, I know I am important to my country, so I had to think well. It’s not only about football, but also about life.

“I want to live well in my country at the end of my career. I thank Real Madrid and their fans for their affection even though I wore that shirt only for a few weeks when I was playing in the youth teams at 14. Good luck with the Champions League Final...the French star added.

“I haven’t talked about money with Florentino or Nasser Al Khelaifi. Only about football and titles to win. My mum and lawyers talk about money. Of course, I got money in the bank account and I take a look at it sometimes, but what matters to me is the pitch, winning trophies, being the best and being happy and right now, I am happy.”

“Real Madrid dream over? Never over, never over… you can never know what happens in the future. I’m focused on the present and I wanted to continue at PSG.

“The criticism in Madrid - I accept it and hope they will understand me”.

“I have respect for Real Madrid and Florentino Perez. I They did everything for me and tried to make me very happy, that's why I had to call him personally, we’ve a close relationship”

“I just decided for myself and I believe i made the best decision”.
