Man United Captain, Harry Maguire Marries Secretly Amid Criticisms On His Career So far.

Manchester United captain departed Carrington training ground just after lunchtime on Thursday afternoon for the Registry Office ceremony, where his fiancée Fern Hawkins was waiting for him.

Mr and Mrs Maguire tied the knot at a marriage registry but intend to hold a more grand ceremony later in the year in France.

Guests were reportedly informed of the Crewe Registry Office's location by text message earlier in the day.

The pair, who met as youths more than ten years ago, kept the intricacies of their relationship hidden from everyone except their family and closest friends.

Harry and Fern, both 29, engaged since 2018 when he was still playing for Sheffield United's youth team. The couple are parents to Lillie Saint, three, and Piper Rose, born in May 2020.

This summer, they will renew their marital vows in a beautiful ceremony in a chateau in France.

According to the Mirror, it was a well kept secret to all save their closest family and friends. They intended to get married legally in the UK before heading to France.

For Fern, who has a first-class degree in science and physiotherapy, later became a student and graduated in 2017, that will be a fantasy wedding day, as she has often been spotted cheering Maguire on from the sidelines.

Daisy, Harry's younger sister, 21', will be a bridesmaid in the Burgundy wedding.

The England international was joined by his parents, Zoe and Alan, who travelled from their home near Sheffield for the ceremony.

Laurence, 25, and Joe, 30, Harry's siblings, will be in attendance, as will England teammate Jordan Pickford and Jordan's wife Megan Davison, who is also a bridesmaid.

When Manchester United paid £80 million for Maguire from Leicester City in 2019, he became the most expensive defender in the world, and went on to captain the side.
