Man City Signs Goalkeeper Stefan Ortega Moreno On A Three-Year Deal.

Stefan Ortega Moreno has officially signed a three-year contract with Manchester City.

The 29-year-contract old's at Arminia Bielefeld expired, allowing him to join the Club on a free transfer.

The seasoned German strengthens City's options in net and joins the team as the second acquisition of the summer, following Erling Haaland. He'll wear a shirt with the number 18.

Before he joins the team this month ahead of preseason, the transfer is subject to international approval.

According to Ortega Moreno, the opportunity to join City was one he just could not pass up.

"This is a fantastic move for me,” he said. “Manchester City are an amazing team – a squad with world-class quality in every area. To be given the chance to join this group of players and help continue the Club’s success is a dream for me.

“I have enjoyed my time in Germany and I want to thank the Arminia Bielefeld fans for their support. But this new challenge of coming to City and playing in the Premier League is too good for me to ignore. 

“I can’t wait to get started, meet my teammates and begin working with Pep and his backroom staff.”  

In the Bundesliga last season, Ortega Moreno started all but one of Arminia Bielefeld's games, and he was a regular participant for them in the 2021–2022 season.

He joined Arminia Bielefeld as a young player in 2007, and over the course of two different seasons, he made a total of 220 appearances for the squad. Four years later, he made his first-team debut, aiding them in 2013 in their promotion to the second tier of the German league.
