Dutch duo Excels in England and wins the PFA Player Of The Year 2019 Awards!

Dutch professional footballers Virgil Van Dijk and Vivianne Miedema are the first players from the same country to win the  Professional Footballers' Association Player of the year awards for 2018/19 Season.

Liverpool football club and captain of Netherlands national team defender, Virgil Van Dijk, who plays as a centre back for both club and country, born 8th July 1991, age 27, He is the most expensive defender in the globe, after joining Liverpool for a transfer fee of £75million, a world record signing for a defender from former club side Southampton in January 2018.

Van Dijk has gone on to score a total number of 6 goals in 67 appearance since his debut appearance for the club on 5th January 2018 in the third  round of the FA Cup against local rivals Everton, where he scored the winning goal for the club in a 2-1 victory. Despite his half season appearance for Liverpool in the 2017/18 Season, He was included in the list of players to play in  the UEFA Champions League by the German technician and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. He led the club all the way to the finals, where they finally lost to Spanish club Real Madrid 1-3 on 26th May 2018 in Kiev.

Virgil Van Dijk since his signing, has brought some sense of stability and composure in the Liverpool former shaky defense says, " I think it is the highest honor you can get as a player, to get voted player of the year by players you play against every week."

Vivianne Miedema on the other hand, who plays for the English Women Super League side Arsenal and the Netherlands women national football team.Born 5 July 1996, Age 22. She signed for Arsenal women team in May 2017 in an undisclosed fee, where she went on to score 4 goals for Arsenal Ladies that season, scoring her first in a match against Everton. She as scored 22 goals for Arsenal in the present season making it a total number of 26 goals for the Arsenal Ladies and 139 goals in her Footballing career.

Vivianne Miedema after the awards says " I am just really delighted i could help my team all season long with goals and it means a lot to me."

Virgil Van Dijk after voting Raheem Sterling to win the award, went on to win  the PFA player of the year 2019 award, beating competitors Raheem Sterling, Bernado Silva, Sergio Aguero, Eden Hazard and team mate Sadio Mane as voted by his fellow players and succeeds fellow team mate "Mohamed Salah" who won the award the previous season.

Arsenal forward Vivianne Miedema won the Female PFA player of the year 2019 award, and saw of competition from Steph Houghton, Nikita Parris, Kiera Walsh, Erin Cuthbert and Ji so yun.
