No Senior Team Players Will Be Involved In The FA Cup fourth round Replay and He Won’t Manage The Team.... Says JÜRGEN KLOPP

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made his opinion clear, by trying to sacrifice a cup game and giving the youngsters a chance to play in the return FA Cup fixture game with Shewsbury town at Anfield...


Liverpool were held to a 2-2 shocking draw in their FA Cup fourth round tie after fielding a weak team against Shrewsbury side last Sunday, 


Liverpool lost a 2 goals lead at the New Meadow Staduim, after J.Cummings scored twice for Shrewsbury in the 65 and 75 minutes to cancel C.Jones and D.Love own goal for Liverpool, thereby for in Liver to a replay at Anfield come 4th February 2020.
The winner of the tie will move on to the next fifth round to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on 5th March.

Jurgen Klopp said afterwards that he would play no senior players because they need rest and would ask the club's reserve manager Neil Critchley to take the team in the replay as he would prioritise the scheduled winter break.

Meanwhile, CloudNine Sports understands that, the U-23 manager Neil Critchley, has earlier this season overseen the youngsters at the touchline, when they played in the Carabao Cup quater-final fixture away to Aston Villa last December which Aston Villa  won the game 5-0.

The youngsters were featured in the game because Jürgen Klopp travelled with the  Liverpool senior team to Qatar for the FIFA club world cup in which Liverpool emerge Champions after a 1-0 victory over Flamengo.


The decision to keep his senior stars out of the return date fixture with Shrewsbury has attracted so many criticisms , with the English football’s oldest cup competition said to be being undermined.

The Football Association have slapped down Liverpool over Jurgen Klopp's attack on FA Cup replays during the winter break, but the Liverpool boss still maintain his stance.

 “I love the cup competitions.
“In Dortmund i was three or four times in a final. however I have to see the larger picture. The players have their [training and mid-season break] programme.
“Critchley did very, very well at Aston Villa. The goals they scored there - forget them. With the same performance, the boys have an opportunity against Shrewsbury. I hope they will make it"... Says Klopp.
“I don’t wish to be the one who is the speaker for everyone.
“If we don’t raise the matter it'll be solely more. we want to play soccer as usually as possible - the key word is possible.
“But there comes a moment where we must say ‘no’.

Several other managers like Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, and Leicester City's Brenda Rodgers have defended Jürgen Klopp's from critics made by his comment of not wanting to play the senior players against Shrews..

Guardiola's says: "They have no right to tell the manager which selection they have to choose please, that is our job!

Rodgers also says: "Klopp can pick whoever he wants, it's his decision, he has to keep to them and I believe it's for the benefit of the club".
