Football Activities In Spain Which Includes The La Liga, Have Been Suspended Until Further Notice.
The LaLiga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have reached a decision to extend the suspension of the 2019-20 season indefinitely.
The decision for the initial supension of the La Liga on March 8, and was expected to resume April 3rd at it's earliest, was in line of the general Suspension of all football activities by the Government of Spain due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
CloudNine Sports understands that there have been more than 18,000 people in Spain who have tested positive for virus, and 1000 deaths have been recorded so far, which includes that of the Spanish Young coach Francisco Garcia '21' and Former Real Madrid President Lorenzo Sanz '76' who died last week.
The LaLiga and the RFEF, have now extended the resumption of football indefinitely, until the authorities consider that the safety of everyone's health is not at risk.
League president Javier Tebas previously said he was convinced the season would be completed, while he was also hopeful all European leagues would finish by June 30, with both Euro 2020 and the 2020 Copa America pushed back to next year.
In an official statement from the Spanish Federation and the La Liga;
"Both the RFEF and LaLiga would like to show their greatest public appreciation to all those who are devoting their greatest efforts to providing essential services to the Spanish people and we would also like to show our most sincere remembrance for all those who have passed away and a warm embrace from the world of football for all the families who are losing loved ones".
