Francisco Garcia, A Spanish Young Football Coach Has Died From Coronavirus.

Spanish football coach Francisco Garcia on Sunday was confirmed dead just after few days after he was tested positive for Coronavirus.



21-year-old Francisco Garcia, is a youth football coach of Malaga-based club Atletico Portada Alta, who had been diagnosed with leukaemia before he visited the Regional Hospital of Malaga last week for treatment, after exhibitiing severe Covid-19 symptoms.


News reports described him as the youngest victim to have died from the deadly coronavirus to date.

Nearly 300 people have died from the Covid-19 outbreak in Spain where there are more than 8,000 positive cases, with the death rate at its highest among those over the age of 70.

According to Spanish newspaper Malaga Hoy, Garcia was advised to seek further medical help after struggling to breathe, and was told later that he was suffering both coronavirus and pneumonia, which resulted to his I'll health.

Garcia would have not passed away if he was not suffering from leukaemia, he would likely have survived the battle of coronavirus, says the medical practitioners who attended to him.

The clubs president Pep Bueno pays his tribute to him via the Spanish newspaper;
"The hospital rang me at 7pm on Sunday to say Francisco condition was okay, but then an hour later because of the coronavirus and Leukaemia ... I do not want to believe it. It seems impossible to me.

"We are still in shock, He was a great guy and a very talented coach".

Atletico Portada Alta released an official statement via social media following Garcia's death, which reads:
"We want to express our deepest condolences to the family, friends and close friends of our coach Francisco García who has left us, unfortunately, today.

How are we going to continue conquering ... in the league? We don't know how, but we will surely do it for you Francis.

"We will not forget you, rest in peace, phenomenon. Until forever."

Malaga who are currently in 14th place in the Spanish Segunda division, also released a statement via their official Twitter handle;
"The Club expresses deepest condolences to Atletico Portada Alta for the loss of one of their coaches, Francisco García, and sends sympathies to family and friends."
"Together we must stop COVIDー19. Rest in peace."
