Juventus Players and Coaching Staff, Agree To Take A Pay-Cut From Their Wages.
Juventus players and coaching staff, have agreed to take a pay-cut for the next four months due to present worldwide coronacirus crisis.
The decision was reached on Saturday, in other to save the club an estimated 90million euros (£80.7m) during the coronavirus pandemic, with all football activities in Italy currently suspended until at least 3 April at the earliest.
The wage reduction for the Juve squad which includes Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo who receives close to €31million anually, will now sacrifice €3.8million, same goes to all players and coaching staff who will not be paid their full salaries in March, April, May and June.
A statement released via the clubs website, in which the information was disclosed reads;
"Due to the current global health emergency is preventing the performance of the sporting activity, it has reached an understanding with the players and the coach of the First Team regarding their compensation for the residual portion of the current sport season.
"The understanding provides for the reduction of the compensation for an amount equal to the monthly payments of March, April, May and June 2020. In the coming weeks, personal agreements with the players and the coach will be finalised, as required by the current regulations."
"Should the current season's matches be rescheduled, the Club will negotiate in good faith with the players and the coach conditional increases of compensations according to the actual resumption and finalisation of official competitions."
Juventus board ended by thanking all the players and the coaches for their understanding and commitment at a difficult time for everyone.
Italy has now been recorded as the most affected country in the world with the covid-19 pandemic, as 10,023 out of 92,472 cases have led to death.
Meanwhile, the club have had three players who tested positive for Covid-19, whom are Italian defender, Daniele Rugani, French midfielder Blaise Matuidi, and Argentine forward Paulo Dybala, and they all seem to be doing well at the moment.
