Manchester United Have Triggered The Clause To Keep Nemanja Matic For A Year.

Manchester United football club, have triggered the one-year contract option for Nemanja Matic, which is currently under discourse.


The Serbian international who plays as a defensive midfielder for the club, is into the last few months of his contract, since signing a 3-year contract in the summer of 2017, to re-unite with his former boss Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

The United board have decided to keep him at the club until next year 2021 despites several reports that he would be leaving the club since the last winter transfer window.

Matic got back into playing regular football, for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer team, following the injury worries over Paul Pogba, and Scott Mctominay.

He has started nine of the last 10 premier league games for United, missing just one due to a one match suspension, as United remain unbeaten in their last 11 matches across all competitions.

The 31-year-old scored his first goal in 399 days against Manchester City in the league cup, he has also created 2 assist for the United team this season.

United boss Solskjaer has said in a statement earlier in the month that;
"Nemanja will stay." 
"He's been working hard to get back in and now he's here and he's playing well."
"We have agreed a new contract with him, so i am 100 per cent sure he will stay".
