On-Loan Manchester United Striker Odion Ighalo Have Been Given A New Mind-Blowing 2-year Contract Worth More Than £400,000 A Week By Parent Club Shanghai Shenhua.

On-Loan Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo has been offered a two-year contract extension worth more than £400,000 a week by his parent Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.



The Nigerian star Ighalo left Shanghai Shenhua on deadline day of the January transfer window, to join his childhood dream club Manchester United on a six-months loan which is set to end May, but may now be extended to June due to supension of football activities in England.


CloudNine Sports had earlier reported that Manchester United have shown interest in making Odion Ighalo's six months Loan move to the club a permanent one, with Shanghai Shenhua having informed United that they will have to pay £15million in order to sign the Nigerian on a permanent deal.


According to reports from Sky Sports, The Chinese club side have decided to extend Ighalo's contract with them which was set to end in December 2022, by offering him an overwhelming two-year contract worth more than £400,000 (₦176,000,000) in five days, which will now keep in in China until December 2024.

The contract extension will for Ighalo, will see him become the Highest Paid African Player if he accepts the offer.

Mancheater United currently pays a third of Ighalo's current £300,000 wages, while his parent club Shanghai Shenhua pays the rest.

Odion Ighalo has played a vital role for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team since his move to the club, despites several criticisms following his transfer to Old Trafford, the former Watford striker seems to have proven his doubters wrong.

He has scored 4 goals in 3 starts, one on his debut start against Club Brugge, one goal and an assist away to LASK in the Europa League, and two goals against Derby County in the FA Cup.
