Borussia Dortmund Secures 800th Bundesliga Win After Cruising To A 4-0 Victory Over Schalke.

Borussia Dortmund trashes Schalke 4-0 at home in the Revierderby on Saturday, to reach a milestone of 800th Bundesliga win in history. 





The German Bundesliga became one of the top European leagues to make a sensational return to action after almost 9 long weeks of no football matches due to the global health crises caused by Coronavirus.


Borussia Dortmund played host to Schalke 04 at the Signal Iduna park which had no fans in attendance in a bid to maintain social distancing rules and obey government return rules.



Erling Haaland continued his impressive form, and inspiring Dortmund to victory. He opened the scoring for the Black-and-Yellow side in the 29th minutes of the game.


Dortmund dominated play as the game progresses, and before the stroke of half time, they increased the lead to 2-0, courtesy of Raphael Guerreiro strike.

Thorgan Hazard beats the Schalke keeper and added a third goal via a shot from outside the box just 3 minutes into the second half.

Rapheal Guerriero went on to score a brace for himself converting a successful 1-2 pass with Erling Braut Haaland in the 63rd minutes.

The game ended 4-0 at full-time in favor of Lucien Favre's men, and thr victory sees them remain second position in the league standings with 54 points, and 1 point behind table toppers Bayern Munich who are set to play away to Union Berlin on Sunday.


Dortmund last won the Bundesliga title back-to-back in 2010/11 and 2011/12 season under former manager Jurgen Klopp.


A total of 12 clubs have so far been emerged champions of Germany since the Bundesliga began as the country’s nationwide championship in 1963.

Bayern Munich lead the way with their record 28 titles, while Borussia Dortmund, Werder Bremen, Hamburg, VfB Stuttgart, Cologne and Kaiserslautern have also all been crowned champions of the league multiple times.
