Lionel Messi Makes A Huge Donation To Help The Battle Against Coronavirus Outbreak In Argentina.

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has made a €500,000 donation to help the fight against coronavirus in his native Argentina.




The Argentine international, donated half a million euro’s to the Fundación Garrahan in Argentina through the Fundación Messi.

According to mundoalbiceleste,the money will be used to purchase supplies for health professionals to aid the spread of COVID_19 in the country.


“We are very grateful for this recognition of our work, which will allow us to continue with our commitment to public health in Argentina," said executive director of the ​Fundación Garrahan.


This is not the first time Messi would be involved in a charitable campaign, as he had already taken part in a number of numerous campaigns in order to raise awareness in Argentina since the outbreak of the virus, highlighting the importance of staying at home and washing hands in order to avoid a greater spread of the pandemic.

You may recall that back in March, the six-time Ballon d'Or winner pledged to give a total of around €1 million to assist health care professionals in the battle with Covid-19, with around half of that going to Barcelona's Hospital Clinic and the rest dedicated to medical facilities in his homeland.

The 32-year-old Argentine captain has scored over 70 goals in 138 caps for the Argentine senior national team.

He his currently back to training this week with the Spanish gaints Barcelona ahead of the proposed resumption of the La Liga on 12th June, following the Spanish Ministry of Health’s approval for the return of sports training sessions.
