Real Madrid Star Sergio Ramos Has Become The All-Time Highest Scoring Defender In The La Liga History.

Real Madrid captain and centre-back Sergio Ramos has become the all time highest-scoring defender in La Liga history.



The Spaniard, opened scoring from the penalty spot early in the second half (50 mins), of Real Madrid's gameweek30 fixture away to Real Sociedad.


His joy was cut-off after a horrinle collision with Alexander Isak, he was forced off the pitch with a knee injury and replaced by Eder Militao in the 60th minutes.

Karim Benzema netted the second goal for Real Madrid in the 70th minutes, before Real Sociedad Midfielder Mikel Merino scored a consolation goal for his side in the 83rd minutes, which saw Real Madrid secure all three points with a 2-1 victory at the end of the match.

The goal for Sergio Ramos marked his 68th goals in his La Liga career, surpassing Barcelona's legend Ronald Koeman 67 goals as the record top-scoring defender in the competition history.

No player in Real Madrid has scored more goals than Ramos in 2020. He has also scored all of his last 17 penalty kicks, which is the longest steak in Europe since the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus in 2018.

The 34-year-old joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2005 from Sevilla, and has remained at the Santiago Bernabeu ever since, scoring a total of 96 goals with 38 assist across all competitions for the Los Blancos.

Ramos has won four La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey, four Supercopa de España, four Champions League, three Super Cup, and four Fifa Club World Cup in his time with Real Madrid.

With eight game remaining to conclude the season, Zinedine Zidane's men have now topped Barcelona in the La Liga standings based on the Head to Head rule, as both teams have same 65 points.

Barcelona next game is against Athletic Club at the Camp Nou on Tuesday, while Real Madrid play host to Mallorca on Wednesday.
