UEFA Confirms That The Champions League Competition Will Resume In 51 Days Time.
UEFA Executive Committee have reached an agreement following a meeting on Wednesday that the Champions League Quater-Final, Semi-Final and the Final will be played in Lisbon between the 12th and 23rd August as a straight knockout tournament.
The Competition was suspended on Wednesday 11th March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
All last-16 second-leg games is set to be played on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th August, 2020, and would all take place at their original venues.
There will be no second legs in quarter-finals or semi-finals games which will be played in Lisbon, Portugal from Wednesday August 12th to 19th, while the Final would also be played in Lisbon on Sunday August 23.
A statement from the UEFA website reads;
"The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be split between Benfica's Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Sporting CP's Estádio José Alvalade. The Estádio do Dragão in Porto and the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques in Guimarães will host the four outstanding round of 16 second legs if required.
"Five substitutions will be allowed in all the remaining matches in season 2019/20, in accordance with the temporary change to the Laws of the Game, whereas the number of substitutions for season 2020/21 will remain at three".
The 2019/20 final was initially due to be held at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul Turkey, but will now instead stage the 2020/21 showpiece final.
Meanwhile, some of the Champions League round of 16 ties have already been concluded, with PSG, Atlético Madrid, Leipzig and Atalanta all through to the quarter-finals.
Manchester City have yet to play their return-leg tie against Real Madrid at the Etihad staduim, Chelsea are away at Bayern Munich, Juventus are home to Lyon and Napoli will travel Barcelona.
