Nigerian Striker Victor Osimhen Is On The Verge Of Joining Napoli This Summer.

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is on the verge of joining Gennaro Gattuso's team Napoli, as he has verbally agreed to join the Serie A side this summer.



Napoli on the other hand, is ready to pay a reported transfer fee of €50million +€10million in bonuses, while Lille demands €81million (£73.6m) for the youngster, as negotiations that will keep both clubs happy is still ongoing.

The Lille forward has been heavily linked with a move away from the Stade Pierre-Mauroy this summer, with a number of top European clubs interested in his signature, following his sensational debut performance at the just concluded 2019/20 French Ligue1 season.


It is believed Osimhen’s move to Napoli was been delayed due to a change in agents.

According to L’Equipe, the transfer will be finalised on Thursday as he would sign a five-year deal in the process which will keep him at Napoli until June 2025.

Last summer Lille sold playmaker Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal for £72 million, but want a fee around that region for Osimhen who has served as a perfect replacement for Pepe so far.

If the deal is completed, it will see Osimhen become Napoli's recod transfer, Most expensive African and Nigerian footballer breaking Alex Iwobi £35 million transfer fee from Arsenal to Everton.


The 21-year-old who was on loan at Belgian club side Sporting Charleroi, joined Lille from his parent club Vfl Wolfsburg last summer, and has scored 18 goals, creating six assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.


He recently won the club’s Player of the Season award having helped the club to a fourth place finish with 49 points.
