Arsenal Ready To Rival Man United For The Signing Of Keiran Trippier.

Premier League side Arsenal are set to battle it out with Manchester United for the signing of Atletico Madrid key defender Kieran Trippier.

The North london club have been rumoured to be planning a player swap deal for the England international as a potential replacement for Hector Bellerin this summer.

Bellerin's contract with the Gunners is set to expire in 2023, and the 26-year-old Spaniard has no intention of signing a new contract extension at the Emirates Stadium, as he wants a move back to Spain where he began his career as a youth in Barcelona.

According to report by Spanish media outlet Marca, Atletico's sporting director Andrea Berta is a very big admirer of Bellerin, having watched him develop at Arsenal over the past eight years.

Meanwhile, Trippier is attracting interest from Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who already has former Crystal Palace Wan-Bissaka, is looking to strengthen his options at full-back next season.

The 30-year-old, who is from Greater Manchester, has revealed to his England team-mates that he wants to join the Red Devils, which makes it impossible for him to turn down their deal.

Trippier moved to join Atletico in a £20m deal from Tottenham Hotspur in July 2019. His contract with the club is set to expire in June 2022.

United are ready to offer a straight cash which is likely i to be in the region of £30m to land the La Liga winner at Old Trafford.

Trippier played a key role in Los Rojiblancos’ La Liga title win in the just concluded 2020/21 season, as Diego Simeone‘s side secured a first league title since 2014.

He made six assists in 28 appearances to help Atletico win their first La Liga title in eight seasons.
