Barcelona Set A €100 Million Release Clause For Dani Alves.

Following the return of Dani Alvesto Barcelona, the club has set his release clause at €100m, and will have to be at the club until June . 

The Brazilian international was officially unveiled at the Camp Nou on Wednesday afternoon which saw him come out for his presentation in flip flops and then went in barefoot.

According to reports, 10,378 fans came to the Camp Nou to see Dani Alves presentation. 1000 more fans than Xavi’s presentation. 

Dani Alves couldn't contain his excitement on a second return to the legendary club, as he gave the real reasons why he returned to the club.

Speaking at his unveiling today, the 38-year-old said he re-joined Barcelona because he promised himself that he would definitely return to Camp Nou.

“The locker room right now is a lot better than I am here,” Alves said.

“They are very young players, with a lot of ambition and some of us that have already run a few more miles than them, we need to put our strengths together to transform Barca again.

“And I insist that we can only do this together. Alone, we can’t do anything. I am sure if we unite our forces together and if we are positive. Great things can only be achieved through hard work and positivity.

“It’s like the slogan of this club: it is more than a club because we are all Barca and Barca is all of us. So thank you so much.”

“I’m clear that I want to play the 2022 World Cup and anything can happen here. There are special things in this club and in this city... He added.

“I am back five years after I left and you have to value the chance to return to Barca. Words fail me.

“It is a special day for me. I have won a war because I promised myself that I would return.”

Alves had left Barcelona five years ago, ending his eight-year stay with the Catalonia club. He made 391 appearances across all competition, scored 21 goals and won atotal of 23 trophies ( 6 LaLiga titles, 4 Copa del Rey, 4 Spanish Cups, 3 Champions League, 3 Super Cups, 3 Club World Cups.

He further went on to join Juventus in 2016, Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, and São Paulo in 2019, and now back at Barca.

On his return, Alves will wear the number 8, jersey, a number formerly worn by club legend Andres Iniesta. 

This will be the fifth number he has worn as a barca player 20, 2, 22,6 and now 8.

Alves would only be available for the team's matches starting in January 2022 having agreed a deal until the end of the season. 

Despite there not being the option to prolong this contract for another year, both the club and the player are reportedly more than willing to talk in June 2022 to sign for another year if the two agree.
