Bruno Fernandes Now One Of Man United Top Earners After Contract Extension With The Club.

Bruno Fernandes has agreed a new contract extension with Manchester United that will make him one of the three highest-paid players at the club.

After series of talks since July, the Portuguese midfieder has finally signed a contract until 2026, with an option for an extra year.

Fernandes joined United for £47million from Sporting in January 2020 on a five-and-a-half-year contract, with the deal still having just over three years left to run.

so the new proposal adds only one extra season but substantially doubles his salary in recognition of his huge impact for the club.

The 27-year-old will reportedly earn £240,000 a week salary, that elevates him towards the higher end of United’s top earners, despite not being at his best this season.

Fernandes has been one of United's most prolific attackers since signing from Sporting CP, scoring 49 goals and 39 assist in 117 games for the Red Devils.

He recently scored both goals on Tuesday against North Macedonia which sends Portugal to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Fernandes is a central part of United's future going forward regardless of who takes over from interim boss Ralf Rangnick as manager this summer.

The Manchester giants, are currently interviewing for another new manager, with Mauricio Pochettino and Erik Ten Hag the main candidates. Whoever gets the job will be their fifth permanent boss since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure in 2013.
