Casemiro Set To Miss Champions League Clash Against Man City.

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro is uncertain for the Champions League semi-final first leg clash against Manchester City, which takes place next Tuesday at the Etihad Stadium.

The Brazilian international suffered a muscular problem in Monday's training session, and would miss Real next game away to Osasuna on Wednesday.

Casemiro '30' missed out of his side's thrilling 3-2 triumph against Sevilla on Sunday night due to suspension, as Real moved 15 points clear at the top after 32 games.

According to Marca, the Brazilian went up in training ahead of this match and will be unable to play.

This season, the midfielder has been a constant player for the Los Blancos making 42 appearances across all competitions.

The sad news comes as a huge blow for manager Carlo Ancelotti who will now likely keep playing Eduardo Camavinga as a defensive midfielder to replace Casemiro.

The squad list for the trip to Osasuna was revealed today, and Casemiro, Modric, Marcelo, Hazard, Mendy, Vallejo, Jovic are all not included in the list due to injury, Covid, and technical decision.

Real Madrid is set to face a strong Man City side in a crucial UCL clash, a side whose strength lies in the midfield, and the La Liga leaders will definitely have to match that. Casemiro’s defensive awareness and physicality will be important in that encounter.
