Cristiano Ronaldo Speaks Out On Smashing A Fan's Phone After Man United Loss To Everton.

Cristiano Ronaldo left the pitch fuming following Manchester United disappointing 1-0 loss to Premier League strugglers Everton on Saturday.

In a video footage that has gone viral, Ronaldo let his frustrations get the better of him, and it surely doesn’t look good for the Portuguese star.

It shows Ronaldo who played the entire duration of the match limping off the pitch due to his shin injury clearly looking frustrated with another poor result for his side, as he allegedly smashed the phone of a young fan (most likely an Evertonian) trying to take a picture of him as he walked down the tunnel.

England's under-21 young midfieder Anthony Gordon scored the only goal of the game for the Toffees through a deflected shot in the 27th minute, taking Frank Lampard's men four points above the relegation zone.

It was yet another disappointing result for the Red Devils as their hopes of making it to the top four is fast fading off, and it appeared that Ronaldo did not take it well.

The Twitter account @EvertonHub captured the video and subsequently posted photos showing how the fan's mobile phone was destroyed.

The videos that circulated on social media were inconclusive that Ronaldo had, indeed, ‘smashed’ a phone out of a fan’s hand as he left the pitch.

However, images that have since emerged appear that a phone was indeed involved.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner could be in a serious trouble after Manchester United confirmed that they are investigating the incident closely, and if found guilty, he could receive some match ban, or be made to pay hefty fine.

A Woman claiming to be the mother of the young fan reportedly shared a post on social media to criticise Ronaldo's behaviour.

Sarah Kelly took to Facebook to explain what had happened to her son, Jake.

She wrote: “Well a lovely game at the match turned into me an Jake with the police. Can’t believe I’m saying this but RONALDO smashed Jakes phone out of his hand while he was recording him coming off at full time. I’m shocked that a professional football can assault a child like this. If anyone can get any videos of this for me I believe their in Instagram already. I’m not on there! Please share!! These football players are thugs! He’s a dad himself how would  he feel if this was done to his kid????????”

Sarah also attached two photos of what appears to be a bruised hand and a smashed phone.

Cristiano Ronaldo apologizes to fan

The 37-year-old took to the photo-sharing platform (Instagram) to apologize for his outburst and poor behavior, but invited the fan to Old Trafford as a sign of fair-play and sportsmanship. CR7 admitted he must be more respectful to others due to being an example for young kids.

“It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing. Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game".... Ronaldo wrote

It has been a very frustrating return to Old Trafford for Ronaldo, with the Red Devils not only set to end the season trophyless, but could eventually miss out of Champions League football next season after falling far adrift Arsenal and Tottenham in the race for the top-four.

As it stands, things could still get more worst, for United who currently sits 7th place in the league standings with 51 points, meaning that if it ends this way, they would not only miss out on the UCL, but also miss out on all European competition (Europa league and Confrence League) next season.
