Man City Is The Chosen Destination Of Erling Haaland In The Upcoming Transfer Window.

Manchester City are inching close and closer to the signing of Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland, and would beat Real Madrid for his signature.

Man City is reportedly the chosen destination of Haaland in the upcoming summer transfer window after months of speculation over his future, as they look to replace club legend Sergio Aguero in the striker role.

City pursued a striker last summer after the departure of Sergio Aguero to Barcelona, with the current Premier League leaders also eyeing the signature of Harry Kane from Spurs.

The Premier League champions are reportedly open to offering him a five-year contract with a £500,000 salary same with the club's current highest earner, Kevin De Bruyne.

Haaland's contract with the German club runs out in 2024, although a release clause permits him to depart this summer for 75 million euros (£62.8 million) which City are willing to activate.

It is believed that the striker's representatives have agreed initial personal terms with City.

According to latest reports of transfer insider and journalist Guillem Balague, Haaland is now more open to joining City than ever before and that City have persuaded the Norwegian forward to move to the Etihad Stadium noe rather than later when he joins Real Madrid.

"I believe he would beat Manchester City next season," said Balague.

"They're not in agreement, but they're near."

Balague also stated that "Haaland has understood for a while what Real Madrid and Manchester City are proposing, and others, but those are the two clubs that are left.

"By the way, it was the proposal City made to him. They not only offered the best financial deal, but they also said, "You're young, remain with us for two or three years, we'll put you to good use, and Real Madrid will always be there."

Haaland whose interest is to play for the Los Blancos as some point in his career, has been assured that he would be allowed to leave for Real Madrid further down the line if he so desires.

Despite being a reported target of Manchester United and Juventus, Haaland signed for Dortmund in December 2019 just three days before the winter transfer window opened, for a fee reported to be in the region of €20 million.

The 21-year-old has gone on to produce an unbelievable tally of 105 goal contributions in just 85 games, scoring 82 goals across all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have all spoken to the former Red Bull Salzburg striker Haaland and are monitoring the situation at the moment.

Sources claims that with the arrival of Erling Haaland at the blue side of Manchester, manager Pep Guardiola could stay at the helm longer than anticipated.

Guardiola's current contract at the Etihad Stadium is set to expire in the summer of 2023, but reports in recent months have suggested the Spaniard could be convinced to extend his deal with the Cityzens for almost a decade.
