Man City or Liverpool?_Wayne Rooney Chooses The Team To Win The Premier League Title!

Wayne Rooney, a former Manchester United player and current Derby County manager, believes Liverpool can beat Manchester City to the Premier League title, but would like Pep Guardiola's team to win it.

With just six games to go in this dramatic title battle, only a point separates the two teams.

Liverpool has had an hectic fixtures in the last four games, which included facing City twice in two different competitions within the space of one week. A thrilling 2-2 draw in the Premier League was followed by a 3-2 Liverpool victory in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Jürgen Klopp's side also demolished Rooney's beloved United 4-0 at Anfield on Tuesday night.

On the other hand, Man City cruised to their fifth Premier League crown and third under Pep Guardiola in 2020-21, and are currently in a strong position to retain the trophy this season.

Pep Guardiola's side will be champions again if they can win all six of their remaining games.

City hosts Roy Hodgson's Watford at the Etihad Stadium this weekend, while Liverpool hosts Everton in a thrilling Merseyside derby.

It's looking increasingly likely that the title race would rekindle memories like that of the 2018-19 season when the Cityzens clinched the title with just one point above the Reds in second place.

The latest inductees into the Premier League Hall of Fame in 2022, featuring City's Vincent Kompany, Didier Drogba and Sergio Agüero, were honored at an exclusive ceremony on Thursday night. Another participant, Wayne Rooney, was asked to give a title-race prediction.

"I'd prefer none of them, but clearly one of them is," Rooney told Beanyman Sports. "Liverpool, I believe, has a good chance of stealing it. They've looked particularly powerful in recent months, and I believe that reaching the FA Cup semi-final will have an impact on that.

“So I have just got a feeling that Liverpool might nick it. I hope not – I would rather City win it.”
