Harry Maguire and Family Receives Bomb Threats As Police Launch Investigation At His Home.
Manchester United's captain Harry Maguire, and his family has reportedly received a bomb threat, as police sweep home.
The wide-spread reports in the British media on Thursday afternoon has led to Investigation by Cheshire police searching his house in northern England.
According to The Sun, the threat came in the form of an email warning that a bomb would be placed in Maguire’s family property where he lives with his fiancee Fern Hawkins and their two daughters.
Understandably, the situation has been taken very seriously given the nature of the threat with the same report claiming that Maguire and his family “have been left shocked.”
“Cheshire Police were called to reports of a bomb threat,” police said in a statement. “No evacuations took place, but as a precautionary measure a police explosives dog has attended the address this afternoon, Thursday 21 April, to conduct a search of the gardens and surrounding area.”
The England international has been heavily criticised by supporters, pundits and fans from rival teams alike for his bad and inconsistent performances on the pitch this season.
Some fans have also gone as far as sending hateful comments via social media, and creating petitions fighting for his removal as United captain or complete departure from Old Trafford.

The 29-year-old had defended his performances earlier in the week after the disappointing 4-0 to rivals Liverpool on Tuesday night;
“I wouldn’t be playing every game for Manchester United in the starting eleven if I’d been playing bad every game or not playing well enough... He said.
“There’s a reason why both managers have put me in the starting eleven every game.”
Man United would next be in action when they face Arsenal in very vital Premier League clash on Saturday, a tie that would determine both teams chances of finishing in the top four spot this season.

A spokesman for Maguire said: "In the last 24 hours, Harry has received a serious threat to his family home.
"He has reported this to the police who are now looking into the matter. The safety of his family and those around him is obviously Harry's number one priority.
"He will continue to prepare for this weekend's fixture as normal and we will not be commenting in any further detail at this time."
