Double Guard Of Honour, As Real Madrid And Betis Ends La Liga Season With A Goalless Draw.

Real Madrid and Real Betis ends their La Liga season with a goalless draw at the Santiago Bernabeu on Friday evening.



The both Spanish teams began the game exchanging a lovely moment of sportsmanship as they observed the guard of honour for each other.

Real Madrid cruised to being crowned the 2021/22 La Liga champions, making it their 35th league tirles to earn the guard of honour, while Real Betis are crowned the Copa del Rey champions, their first title in 17 years.

Carlo Ancelotti fielded a full-strength side against Betis, a squad which could well be the same the team who will take on Liverpool in next weekend's Champions League final in Paris.



Despite, the final league game at the Bernabeu ending in a stalemate, the biggest moment on the night came when Marcelo was being substituted on for Ferland Mendy for what is expected to be his final home game for the Los Blancos.

The Brazilian is expected to depart the club as one of their all-time greats, having spent well over a decade in the capital and helping them to several trophies in his time at the club.


Real Madrid finished the game bearing in mind, that they have to avoid picking up any unnecessary injuries ahead of the UCL final on May 28.

Carlo Ancelotti made no secret about having an eye on that final against Liverpool in Paris in his pre-match press conference on Thursday.

They end the season with 86 points from their 38 games having wrapped up the title in April.

Betis in the other hand finish fifth on 65 points, two behind Sevilla's 67 and three clear of Real Sociedad.
