OFFICIAL: Real Madrid Announce The Signing Of Tchouameni From Monaco.

Real Madrid has announced the signing of Aurelien Tchouameni, a French defensive midfielder, from AS Monaco on a six-year deal.

Next Tuesday, June 24, Tchouameni will be introduced as a Real Madrid player at s "presentation ceremony", and he will also speak to the media.

The European and La Liga Champions is said to have paid €80 million for the midfielder, with the overall package potentially worth €100 million depending on bonuses.

Tchouameni follows Antonio Rudiger, who joined Real Madrid as a free agent, as the club's second summer signing.

He would become the fourth most expensive transfer in Real Madrid's history, after Eden Hazard (£103.50m), Gareth Bale (£90.90m), Cristiano Ronaldo (£84.60m), Tchouameni (£72.00m), and Zidane in fifth at (£69.75m).

The Frenchman is a gifted player who is projected to take over as Casemiro's long-term replacement.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti will have to choose between Casemiro and his new signing Aurelien Tchouameni since he's good enough to make an impact as soon as next season.

The Girondins' academy product joined Monaco for €18 million in 2020 and while Bordeaux was relegated to Ligue 2, Tchouameni quickly established himself as a regular starter at Monaco.

Tchouameni, who is 22 years old, has finished a fantastic 2021/22 season with Monaco, making 50 appearances for his team and national team, scoring five goals and creating three assists.

He's also established himself as a significant member of the French national team's starting lineup.

In France he has been compared with Paul Pogba, although he seems to have a better sense of the game than the departing Manchester United man, rarely making a bad decision.
