Reactions As Manchester United Confirm Paul Pogba Departure After Six Years.

Paul Pogba's six years at Manchester United have been a mixed bag, but the World Cup winner will depart Old Trafford this summer, as his contract expires at the end of the month.

Manchester United made an official announcement in statement on Wednesday afternoon that Paul Pogba will leave the club for the second time this summer, bringing an end to his tumultuous second spell at Old Trafford.

Having previously left in 2012 for a compensation of just £1.5m, to join Italian side Juventus after failing to break into Sir Alex Ferguson squad, He grew from strength-to-strength in the midfield of Juve, and Europe's top sides were all keeping tabs on the youngster.

Pogba had initially joined the Red Devils as a 16-year-old when he moved from the famous Le Harve academy in France, and made a second return in 2016 for £89million becoming the most expensive player in United's history at the time.

United also reportedly paid £39.27m to the player's agent Mino Raiola, who passed away in April, to clinch the deal.

He started with a positive season as Jose Mourinho's side secured the League Cup and then the Europa League, with Pogba netting in the final.

A founding father of the 'dab', but the Frenchman's has failed to leave up to expectations so far as the world-record move didn't work out for both player and club, and his next destination remains unknown.

United have said a final goodbye to Pogba in a statement on their official website, which reads: "The club can announce that Paul Pogba will leave Manchester United at the end of June, upon the expiry of his contract

"Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Paul on his successful career, and thank him for his contributions to Manchester United.

"We wish him all the best for the next steps on a remarkable journey."

He's been heavily linked with a return back to the Old Lady, PSG and Real Madrid could be the most likely destinations for Pogba. Mind you, he'll almost certainly have to accept a pay cut.

It always seemed like it was going this way, especially since Pogba rarely played for the club this summer. The 2018 World Cup winner with France, looked to had given up on the Red Devils and had already made his decision.

The 2021-22 season was arguably his worst yet as he only scored once in 29 appearances across all competitions while struggling with familiar fitness problems. He will leave Old Trafford with a total of 39 goals and 51 assists to his name, making his last appearance for the club was against Liverpool. United lost the game 4-0 at Anfield.

Despite the media's insistence that Pogba may still stay, this is the case from a fan prospective;

Pogba has done considerably more wrong than right in the club. He's wandered across the field far too many times, demonstrating a casual lack of effort and passion.

That isn't to imply Pogba isn't a capable footballer. Quite the contrary. We've witnessed firsthand how lethal he can be when he's on the move. Unfortunately, it hasn't happened nearly often enough, as his form in not always consistent.

In addition, the club must also be held responsible. Pogba has had to deal with a changing manager, system, and players around him on a regular basis. Yes, he could have done more, but United could have provided him with a more conducive working atmosphere.

What do you think of his departure?

Who Would Benefit More From This Departure?

Pogba himself? or Manchester United?
