"We Have The Best Players In The Super Eagles Team" — Jose Peseiro

According to Head Coach Jose Peseiro, believe that the current Super Eagles players in the team are the greatest the country has at the present.

The Portuguese, who was in Ilorin over the weekend to witness Kwara United take on Sunshine Stars, said he has observed the players on films and clips and that all they need to do now is understand the team's overall attitude and ethos.

"Right now, the guys in the team are the best we have." He told reporters.

"I've viewed a lot of videos and what they need to comprehend is our ideals and mentality."

"In Nigeria, new players emerge every day, but we currently have the best." The former FC Porto manager added.

"Okay, if I notice a new player that is outperforming his peers in his position. I'll give him time to assist me grasp our concept, which is what we want to do more of right now rather than bringing in new players."

In the initial rounds of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers, Peseiro guided Nigeria to two victories, a 2-1 win at home to Sierra Leone, and getting an all-time record result of 10-0 away to Sao Tome and Principe earlier this month.

The Super Eagles currently top the Group A table with six points, followed by Guinea-Bissau with four points, Sierra Leone with one point and Sao Tome with none.
