CONFIRMED: Dean Henderson Completes Switch To Nottingham Forest

Dean Henderson has completed his move  from Manchester United to Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan.

Over the course of Henderson's loan, the new Premier League boys will pay his whole wages and cannot be purchased as part of the loan agreement.

Nottingham Forest first-choice goalkeeper Brice Samba has informed them he won't sign a new deal with the club and wants to leave this summer.

The 28-year-old current deal expires in 2023, and he is anticipated to join Lens, assuming they can reach a financial agreement with Forest. He has now been directly replaced by Henderson at Forest.

Henderson on the other hand, was keen for first-team football after losing out to David de Gea in the battle to be first choice at Old Trafford.

The 25-year-old has kept 17 clean sheets in 49 Premier League games but has not played a top-flight match since May 2021.

He becomes Forest's second major summer signing after Nigeria forward Taiwo Awoniyi arrived from Union Berlin.

During a loan stint at Sheffield United in the 2019–20 season, the England goalkeeper already shone in the Premier League, which earned him a solitary England cap in 2020, is understood to be targeting a spot in Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad later this year.

Forest boss Steve Cooper speaking after the successful transfer said.

"Henderson is hungry for more opportunities to play.

"He's played multiple times in the Premier League but has also experienced the Champions League and international football," added Cooper.

"Again, Dean is someone who has attracted a lot of interest from other clubs and we're delighted that he has chosen Nottingham Forest for our return to the Premier League."

Forest are back in the Premier League for the first time since 1999, begins their season away at Newcastle United on 6 August.
