Francisco Trincão Joins Sporting Lisbon On Loan From FC Barcelona

Francisco Trincão has reportedly join Sporting Lisbon on a loan for 10 million and 50% of his rights.

The Barcelona winger will reportedly join Sporting on loan with an obligation to buy for €10m from Barcelona.

The Portuguese born player joined FC Barcelona in the summer of 2020 from SC Braga but had a difficult debut season under Ronald Koeman.

Having been loaned out to Premier League side Wolves last campaign, the winger failed to make the most of his time in England which make the English side not to activate the €30 million buy option in his deal.

With Barça adding Raphinha and renewing Ousmane Dembele contract to their host of attackers, The 22-year old was never going to find a place in Xavi Hernandez’s squad at Camp Nou.

The attacker played 37 matches for Blaugrana scoring 3 goals and 2 assists. While on loan with Wolverhampton wanderers he had 29 appearances in all competition with the English side with 3 goals and an assist.

Barcelona will also have a progressive buy back clause for Trincão, which will be valid for the next 3 years.

As per the terms, the Catalans can re-sign Trincao for €15 million at the end of his first season with Ruben Amorim’s side in 2023.

If Barcelona wish to sign him back after his second season with Sporting i.e., in 2024, they would have to pay €17.5 million. Subsequently, if the La Liga giants plan to take him back in 2025, they would have to shell out €20 million.

The deal is now signed and completed and the player is expected to undergo his medical test with his new Club this week.
