Marcus Rashford Reveals He Hates Liverpool More Than Man City, As Man United Unveils New Away Kit For 2022/23 Season.

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has revealed he hates Liverpool more than Man City purely because of their history.

The England International Marcus Rashford spent his holiday in the United States, and teamed up with NBA Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.

He appeared on an episode of UNINTERRUPTED: The Shop, alongside Academy Award winner Daniel Kaluuya and spoke about United's biggest rivals. 

Speaking on the podcast via You Tube, Rashford was quizzed on if there was one Premier League team he hates and the forward named Liverpool – whilst also launching a sly dig at Manchester City.

He explained there is a "bitter" rivalry between the clubs because of the years spent fighting for trophies, and claims there's no real reason to dislike Pep Guardiola's men as they are no rivals at all.

"Yeah, Liverpool. I don't like Liverpool. City. Liverpool have history, so it's a bit more bitter.

"But with City, it's like you don't like them, but you don't have a massive reason not to like them.

"You just grow up, and it's two Manchester sides. One wears light blue; one wears red."

The 24-year-old also spoke about Liverpool when asked about which grounds he dislikes visiting; 

"Liverpool is like both. Their fans can take the game away from you. If you let them, they can take it away from you... He said.

"My first game at Anfield, I almost got sent off and I'm not a malicious player, I wouldn't try and hurt someone on purpose."

Rashford’s dislike for Liverpool can also be seen on the pitch as well, with the Englishman scoring five goals in 13 appearances against the Merseyside club. He has only scored more goals against Leicester City, finding the net six times in 14 appearances.

Man United faced Liverpool on Tuesday during their pre-season tour in Thailand, where Erik Ten Hag took charge of his first game as United manager, and his side beat the Premier League runners-up 4-0 and won the match Bangkok Century Cup.

 Rashford returned to form with a goal in their 4-1 win against Melbourne Victory this week, After enduring a difficult 2021/22 season, which began with recovering from two serious injuries. 

Meanwhile, Manchester United also unveiled a new white away kit for the 2022-23 season with players taking over Federation Square in Melbourne to showcase their new jersey.

Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho and Scott McTominay were all in attendance at the event in Australia to promote their new kit during their pre-season tour of Australia. 

It is the first time they will don a white away kit since the 2015-16 season.

The Red Devils would wear the new away strip for the first time when they play Crystal Palace in Melbourne on Tuesday. 

United are onto their fifth permanent manager since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, with David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer all failing to deliver the standards the club expected.

They hope to put all the disappointments of last season aside and begin a new era under new boss Ten Hag ahead of their first Premier League game of the 2022/23 season at home to Brighton on 7th August.
