Bayern Munich Director Gives Update On Cristiano Ronaldo Transfer Speculations.

Hasan Salihamidzic, the sporting director of Bayern Munich, has reiterated that the team would not sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, despite the fact that star striker Robert Lewandowski is getting closer to leaving Allianz Arena.

According to reliable sources, Barcelona and Bayern have reached an agreement of a €50 million (£42m) agreement for Lewandowski's services after several weeks of negotiations, and the La Blaugrana are now hopeful to finalize the transfer by the end of the weekend.

This means that Bayern Munich evidently would have a significant vacuum up front if the Poland international left, and Ronaldo has recently been linked to them.

The Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo has been reported to want to depart Old Trafford if possible, as he seeks to play Champions League football and compete for major honours in 2022-23 season.

But once more, Bayern Munich's leadership has categorically rejected the possibility of the Manchester United forward joining the Bundesliga sude this summer, as he does not figure on their wish list.

"In terms of his accomplishments and career, Cristiano Ronaldo has my utmost respect. However, let me reiterate: That was not and is not our focus", Salihamidzic told Sport1.

Bayern, who have already signed Said Mane in a £35m deal from Liverpool this summer, are one of the few clubs in Europe who could afford a move for Ronaldo at this time.

Serge Gnabry is close to committing to a new contract, and the Bavarians have the likes of Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman and Thomas Muller on their books for next season.

Chelsea had earlier this week, also ruled themselves out of the running to sign Ronaldo.
