OFFICIAL: Arturo Vidal Move To Flamengo After Departing Inter Milan

The Brazilian team, Flamengo confirms Arturo Vidal signing on a free transfer after the Chilean departs from Inter Milan where he spent two seasons.

Arturo Vidal was part of the Antonio Conte led side that won the Italian league in 2021.

Flamengo defeated Atletico Mineiro 2-0 at home on Wednesday, advancing the Rio de Janeiro team to the Brazilian Cup quarterfinals. Vidal was present. Giorgian de Arrascaeta, a player for Uruguay, scored both goals. The first leg had been won 2-1 by Mineiro.

According to Brazilian media, the 35-year-old midfielder's Flamengo contract is set to expire in December of 2023.

In 2005, Vidal began playing professionally for Colo Colo of Chile. He relocated to Bayer Leverkusen two years later. He moved to Juventus in 2011, then joined Bayern Munich and Barcelona before signing with the latter in 2018.

He has won league championships in Germany (3), Spain (1), and Italy (4). 

In 2015 and 2016, Vidal won Copa America championships with Chile, and he represented the country at the World Cup

With Chile, Vidal won the Copa America in 2015 and 2016, and he represented his country at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.

With 21 points after 16 games, Flamengo sits ninth in the Brazilian championship, nine points behind league-leading Palmeiras.

Flamengo will take on Corinthians in the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals in August.
