Riyad Mahrez Finally Extends Contract With Man City

With a fresh two-year agreement, Riyad Mahrez's deal with Premier League champions Manchester City now runs through 2025.

Mahrez's previous contract was set to end in 2023, but the Algerian winger has now pledged his allegiance to the club he joined from Leicester for £60 million in 2018.

Mahrez, who has three Premier League titles with City, claimed he has "enjoyed every single minute of my time here."

"It's an honor to be a part of such an amazing club,"

Mahrez, 31, has 254 Premier League games for Leicester and Manchester City and 77 goals in that time.

After contributing to Leicester's success in the top division in 2015–16, he has won a total of four Premier League championships.

Mahrez continued, "To have contributed to the success we have experienced over the previous four seasons has been unforgettable and made us all hungry to try to accomplish even more." Mahrez also spoke on his time at Manchester City.

"Now all I want to do is attempt to do my part to make sure we have a successful season next year and beyond."

Since being crowned English champions in May, City manager Pep Guardiola has added German goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, English midfielder Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United, and Norwegian striker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Gabriel Jesus of Brazil and Raheem Sterling of England were sold by City to Arsenal and Chelsea, respectively.

On August 7, West Ham will host the beginning of Guardiola's team's title defense.
