Eric Bailly Set To Complete Move To Olympique Marseille

Manchester United defender, Eric Bailly is expected to join Marseille this week.

Bailly was a target for the French club and a loan move makes perfect sense for both the parties involved.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a deal for Manchester United defender Eric Bailly to join Olympique Marseille has almost been finalized.

The Ivorian will reach Carrington and wish his teammates farewell. Within the next 24 hours, Bailly will take a flight to France to do his Marseille medical.

The 28-year-old's loan transfer was approved by United. However, if the Ligue 1 team makes it into the Champions League for the upcoming season, the agreement requires Bailly to be purchased and he plays a certain number of games. Marseille will also cover his wages.

The Ivorian traveled from Villarreal to Manchester in 2016, and has spent the majority of his time for the Red Devils on the bench. Although Bailly's first season at United was outstanding, injuries limited his time there after that.

Man United are trying to make at least two more signings before deadline day - following the arrival of Casemiro from Real Madrid to halt a season already mired in crisis.

Brandon Williams, Phil Jones, Aaron Wan Bissaka, and Axel Tuanzebe are set to follow Eric Bailly out of the door, as new boss Erik ten Hag plots an overhaul to his defensive options.
