Haaland, Foden, Dias Shines As Man City Thrash Sevilla In UCL Opener.
Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Ruben Dias all shines, as Pep Guardiola's quest to win a first Champions League with the club got off to the perfect start in Group G opener at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Norwegian Hitman Haaland, continued from where he stopped in the Premier League, by scoring twice to earn Manchester City a 4-0 victory against Sevilla in the Champions League.
He scored a tap-in in each half to take his goal tally to 12 in all competitions this season .
Haaland was on hand to convert a Kevin De Bruyne pass on 20 minutes, before a confident Phil Foden reversed a wonderful second goal into the far corner after the break. When Haaland tapped in after Foden's shot was parried on 67 minutes, City, who were at their slickest, made the game extremely safe. Haaland has now scored 25 goals in just 20 Champions League appearances.
In the last seconds of a convincing victory, Dias added the final goal.
Sevilla decided to introduce two attackers in the second half in an effort to drive Man City back after losing three of their previous four La Liga games this season. The visitors' access to the field was only increased, and Foden began to appear in some precarious situations.
