Paul Pogba's World Cup Hopes In Serious Doubt, As The France Midfielder Is Set To Undergo Knee Surgery.

Juventus midfielder, Paul Pogba’s injury nightmare continues, with hopes of playing in the World Cup are now in serious doubt.


The Frenchman sustained an injury on the meniscus in his right knee back in July during a training session. 


Pogba was adamant to undergo surgery in order to represent France in the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, which is due to get underway in November. 


But according to multiple reports, the Le Blues star, is now set to undergo surgery on his knee after discussing with the Juventus staff.


Football Journalist Fabrizio Romano wrote on his official Twitter account: “Bad news for Paul Pogba. He will undergo surgery on the meniscus in his right knee - Juventus staff has decided together with Paul today.” 


With Pogba deciding to go under the knife, it has been reported that the 29-year-old will be sideline for around 40-60 days. 


Pogba, who left Manchester United to return to Juventus this summer, was expected to be back in training for the Old Ladies on Monday and back to football action later this month but will miss matches against Paris Saint Germain and Benfica in the first two group stage matches of this season’s Champions League. 


He was part of the France side that won the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

But with the finals in Qatar to kick off on November 20, Pogba’s hopes of playing for Les Bleus are in jeopardy.
