AC Milan v Chelsea: Predicted XI, Team News And Injury Updates

When Chelsea travels to San Siro in the Champions League on Tuesday night, they will be attempting to complete a swift double over AC Milan.

The Blues defeated the Serie A powerhouses 3-0 last week at Stamford Bridge, moving them into second position in Group E, level on points with third-place Milan, with Red Bull Salzburg taking the top spot.

Team News And Injury Updates

Mike Maignan, Alessandro Florenzi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Junior Messias, Simon Kjaer, Davide Calabria, and Alexis Saelemaekers are just a few of the numerous Milan players out with injuries.

Theo Hernandez's return from injury against Juventus, who will start at left-back on Tuesday night, gave the hosts some encouragement.

There shouldn't be any huge surprises in the Milan starting lineup, with Olivier Giroud poised to lead the line with Diaz and Rafael Leao providing support, although Tommaso Pobega is likely to leave the midfield to make room for Rade Krunic to enter the lineup in a more advanced position.

N'Golo Kante is still sidelined with a hamstring issue for Chelsea, and Wesley Fofana is out with the knee injury he sustained in the first leg against AC Milan.

Due to a fitness concern, Hakim Ziyech was also left off the team for the London club.

Mateo Kovacic, Reece James, Raheem Sterling, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Ben Chilwell are all expected to make a comeback from the lineup that started against Wolves in the league on Saturday. Head coach Potter will also make changes to the lineup.

In central midfield, Ruben Loftus-Cheek should remain in that position, while Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has been playing well recently, is expected to stay in goal.

AC Milan Predicted XI:

Tatarusanu; Dest, Kalulu, Tomori, Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Krunic, Diaz, Leao; Giroud.

Chelsea Predicted XI:

Kepa; Chalobah, T Silva, Koulibaly; James, Loftus-Cheek, Kovacic, Chilwell; Sterling, Aubameyang, Mount.
