Paul Pogba Ordered Not To Attend The 2022 World Cup Final As France Battle Argentina.

France midfielder, Paul Pogba has been ordered not to attend the 2022 World Cup final despite plans being put in place to fly over.

The Juventus star was ruled out of the tournament in Qatar after sustaining an injury just weeks after his return to Turin from Manchester United.

He underwent surgery in an effort to play at the 2022 World Cup but to no avail.

The 2018 World Cup winner, has since been watching from home offering his words of support for his French teammates, and most recently in a video message;

He said: "Well guys. For a second time guys...in the World Cup final. And this is the second time in a row. Here, I give you all my support, all my strength," he said. 

"And a final, you know, you don't play it, you win it! So I wish you all the best. Good luck to you. Yes sir! Allez Les Bleus."

Whilst Pogba was forced to miss the World Cup, it appears plans have been put in place for him to attend the final at the Lusail Stadium.

But his recovery from a knee injury has been slower than expected. He is yet to play a game this season, and has still not returned to training, with the Italian giants not keen to let Pogba a long-haul flight while he is still recovering.

L’Equipe reports France president Emmanuel Macron is keen on bringing along the team’s injured absentees to Qatar for the final, as his country hope to lift their second consecutive title.

With reigning champions France having reached their second consecutive final against Argentina, Pogba would miss out of the celebration, should France become the first side to defend their title since 1962, and the third team to do so after Italy and Brazil.

Real Madrid star and current Ballon d’Or holder Karim Benzema could also make a return to the team. The Frenchman sadly suffered an injury in training in the opening days of the tournament.

However, other reports have suggested Benzema will snub the opportunity to attend the final as he continues to work on his fitness.

Acccording to Le Parisien, President of France Emmanuel Macron who witnessed his country's victory against Morocco in the semi-final, will again travel to Qatar this Sunday, this time with the first lady Brigitte Macron along with some delegations to take their place in the stands of the Lusail stadium to support the Les Bleus as they both did in Russia four years ago.

39-year-old referee Stéphanie Frappart who became the first woman to officiate a World Cup finals match in the Germany-Costa Rica, has also been invited to make the trip.

Presnel Kimpembe and N’Golo Kanté will be joining the President. They were part of the team to be crowned World champions in 2018, but forced to miss this World Cup with injury.
