Cristiano Ronaldo Reacts After Scoring His First Goal For Al-Nassr In A Competitive Match Against Al Fateh. {Watch Video}

Cristiano Ronaldo is off the mark for his new club Al-Nassr after scoring his first goal in the Saudi Pro League but was unable to guide his team to victory against Al Fateh on Friday.

Al-Fateh squandered the lead twice, as Cristian Tello formerly of Barcelona opened the scoring for the host 12 minutes into his debut at the Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Sports City Stadium.

Brazilian midfielder Anderson Talisca continued his impressive form getting his name on the scoresheet, and levelled the scores for the visitors in the 42nd minute just before the half-time.

The teams looked evenly matched for the majority of the game before Algerian forward Sofiane Bendebka pulled off a stunning volley to restore Al Fateh lead, making it 2-1 in the 58th minutes into the second half. 

Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo was the player who made it 2-2 from the spot in 90+2 minutes of stoppage time to help his team snatch a point in the close-fought encounter.

It happened that Al Nassr were awarded a penalty kick in added time, with Talisca, who is their regular penalty taker, and was later sent-off in the 90+5 minute, handed the ball to Ronaldo when the situation demanded.

It was a frustrating game for th Portuguese superstar after making an inexplicable mistake, hitting the goal post, having a goal disallowed for offside, missing two clear chances to score, and also found his name inside the referee's book following a scuffle with one of the Al-Fateh defenders inside the penalty box.

The 38-year-old finally managed to get his name on the scoresheet having calmly converting the late penalty, as he celebrated his first goal for the Saudi club with a trademark pose in front of the Al-Nassr fans.

The goal was Ronaldo's 820 goals in his career, the most in the history of football.

The 2-2 draw helped Al Nassr move back to the top of the table, same points with Al-Shabab, who also have 34 points, while Al Fateh are sixth with 22 points after 15th round of matches in the Saudi Arabian League.

Reacting, Ronaldo, in a tweet via his Twitter handle after the game, expressed happiness after scoring his first goal for the club in a competitive match, and also hailed his teammates for their display against Al Fateh.

Ronaldo tweeted, “Happy to have scored my first goal in the Saudi league and great effort by whole team to achieve an important draw in a very difficult match!”

It was the first time that Ronaldo has found the back of the net in Saudi Arabia since scoring two against French giants PSG in an exhibition game for an All-Star XI, his side eventually lost the match 4-5.
