Erling Haaland, David de Gea and Kevin De Bruyne WINS Premier League Golden Awards for the 2022/23 Premier League Season.
Manchester City duo Erling Haaland, and Kevin De Bruyne has won the Premier League Golden Boot and Playmaker for the 2022-2023 season respectively.
Haaland shattered a number of records having scored 36 goals and eight assists to clinch the prize in his debut Premier League season after signing from Borussia Dortmund last summer.
His closest competitor, Tottenham's Harry Kane scored 30 goals after his brace on the final day fixture against relegated Leeds United, and finished six goals behind the Golden Boot winner.
The Norwegian broke the all-time single-season scoring record in the division by bagging 36 goals, surpassing both Blackburn's Alan Shearer, and Newcastle's Andy Cole, and helped his team to a third consecutive league title last Sunday.
Though the 22-year-old was unable to improve his tally of 36 goals as he was left on the bench by manager Pep Guardiola, with Man City finishing their league campaign with a 1-0 defeat at Brentford on Sunday.
He just needed one more goal contribution to register the most overall involvements in a single Premier League season. He is currently level with Thierry Henry's 44 from 2002/03.
Apart from winning the Golden Boot which is just one of the many awards in Haaland’s collection. He became the first Player to receive both Player of the Season and Young Player of the Year in the Premier League’s annual awards.
He was also voted the Football Writers’ Footballer of the Year award earlier this month.
Haaland’s team-mate Kevin De Bruyne, who was left out of the squad entirely against Brentford, claims the Premier League Playmaker award for the most assists with 16 and 7 goals.
The Belgian has cemented his legacy as one of the Premier League's greatest ever players in 2022/23 with his unmatched eye for a pass and 16 assists.
De Bruyne is now one of the top five goal creators in the league's history, and becomes the first player in Premier League history to finish as the top assist provider in four different seasons. (2016/17 - 18 assists, 2017/18 - 16 assists, 2019/20 - 20 assists, 2022/23 - 16 assists).
For the second time in his career, David de Gea won the Golden Glove award.
The Man United number one has been crucial to his side's much-improved performances in 2022/23, racking up an impressive 17 clean sheets.
Man City will now turn their attention to City's upcoming cup finals against Manchester United in the FA Cup and Inter Milan in the Champions League, with the Premier League champions chasing an historic Treble.
