Inter Makes It To The UCL Final For The First Time In 13-Years, After Beating Rivals AC Milan.

Inter Milan are into the Champions League final for the first time in 13 years, since they won the competition under Jose Mourinho in 2010.

The Nerazzurri took a healthy 2-0 advantage from last week's first leg, but as we know, away goals do not have any extra weight since the start of last season.

Goals from Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan make Inter strong favourites over manager Stefano Pioli's men who had star man Rafael Leao missed last week's encounter.

On his return to fitness, Leao was thrust straight back into the starting XI, but their talisman was unable to really get into the game like he has done so often over the last two years. Much like the first leg, with Leao not involved, AC Milan lacked any consistent threat to hurt Inter with, or disrupt their shape enough to force a goal.

The first half was a tight affair with both goalkeeper called into action.

It was Inter who got the only goal of the night at the San Siro, after Lautaro Martinez cut back for substitute Romelu Lukaku in a crowded area, and the Belgian striker kept his composure to feed a return ball back to Martinez, who got the ball beyond goalie Mike Maignan, and essentially kill the game off after what was a dismal second half from the Rossoneri.

Martinez's sole goal in the 74th minute, gave Simone Inzaghi's men a 3-0 aggregate win against their fierce rivals AC Milan.

The last time Inter played the final match of Europe's highest club competition was in 2010 with a squad coached by Jose Mourinho and they came out as champions thanks to a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich.

Diego Milito became the main star of the Blue-Black squad by scoring two goals.

Inter will undoubtedly be the underdogs against either reigning champions Real Madrid or Manchester City in the final in Istanbul on June 10, but the way they managed both legs of this all-Milan tie suggests they will be hard to beat, as they look to secure their fourth Champions League crown.

City's semi-final with the holders is evenly poised at 1-1 at the halfway stage, making the second leg clash at the Etihad stadium on Wednesday night a must win game for both teams.
