Man United To Finally Sell Anthony Martial After His Behaviour Vs Bournemouth.

Manchester United are ready to sell Anthony Martial in the summer, after running out of patience with the striker.

The Frenchman angered his manager by snubbing him and storming down the tunnel before reconsidering his actions and joining his teammates on the substitutes’ bench.

Martial who arrived at Old Trafford for £36 million deal as a 19-year-old in 2015 from Monaco with plenty of hype and potential, but hasn't lived up to expectations.

It was a record fee for a teenager at the time, and he is currently one of the Red Devils’ longest-serving player.

He netted 17 times in his first campaign, and in 2019-20 he scored a career best 23.

Though he has only managed 16 goals in his past three seasons at the club that he was sent on-loan last season with LaLiga club side Sevilla, but found the net just once in 12 appearances.

During his eight years stay at the club, he has scored 87 goals and provided 53 assists in 296 games in all competitions.

But like many of his United teammates, he was afforded a fresh start heading into this season under new manager Erik ten Hag. Initially, he looked set to make the most of this opportunity as he was one of the club’s best performers during pre-season.

Martial has failed to make an impact after suffering a number of injuries, and has flattered to deceive when he’s been fit enough to play.

He has scored just eight goals this season in 19 appearances.

The recent straw that broke the camel's back was when he snubbed Ten Hag, and stormed down the tunnel after being substituted in the 57th minute of Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Bournemouth. It was another underwhelming performance from the forward and Ten Hag now ‘wants him out.

According to the The Sun, Martial’s body language has been a source of frustration to the United hierarchy, and some members of staff questioned his decision to wear gloves on a mild spring day during a recent match at home.

Martial's wages, according to reports is £240,000 per week. His future at Old Trafford looks to be in doubt as the hierarchy have become fed up with Ten Hag in agreement. 

He has just one-year remaining on his current deal until 2024 with an option of an extra year, and the club are prepared to cash in on him even if it mean accepting a fairly low fee.

Ten Hag is also keen to signing a new striker in the summer as he looks to ease the burden on talisman Marcus Rashford going forward.
