Teams Discover Next Opponent In The Caraboa Cup Fourth Round Draw, Man United Vs Newcastle And So On...

Teams have now discovered their fourth round opponents in the 2023-24 Caraboa Cup, after the round-of-16 draw was held on Wednesday night.


Holders Man United, will play Newcastle United in the next stage after the Magpies defeated last season's treble winners Manchester City on Wednesday night courtesy of Alexander Isak's second-half effort at St James' Park.

The defeat for the the eight-time winners, was the biggest shock of the third round, ending Pep Guardiola's side hope for a quadruple this season. 



Erik ten Hag's men progressed following a routine 3-0 win over dismal Crystal Palace on Tuesday night at Old Trafford.

Goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro and Anthony Martial settled the scores, as they landed an astonishing 12th home cup tie in a row.


The game between Man United and Newcastle at Old Trafford, will be a repeat of last season's final at Wembley, which the Red Devil's emerged champions with a 2-0 victory.


Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool were among the other big hitters to progress to the fourth round on Wednesday night.


There's also a London derby to look forward to with the Gunners travelling to West Ham United for the fourth round. 

Reiss Nelson's early goal on Wednesday night was enough to earn Arsenal a 1-0 win at Brentford. 

West Ham edged out League One side Lincoln at Sincil Bank thanks to Tomas Soucek's solitary second-half effort.


Nine times winners Liverpool, have been handed a trip to Premier League side Bournemouth after they defeated Leicester City 3-1 at Anfield.

Cody Gakpo equalised for Liverpool in the second half after Kasey McAteer had given Leicester an early lead and further goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Jota sent the nine-time winners through.

Bournemouth beat Stoke 2-0 at home after scoring twice in the space of three second-half minutes through Dominic Solanke and Joe Rothwell's free-kick.


Elsewhere in the fourth round, Chelsea earned a home draw against Championship side Blackburn after Nicolas Jackson's second-half strike sealed the Blues a 1-0 home win against Brighton.


Blackburn thrashed Cardiff 5-2, with Andrew Moran scoring twice in the second half.


Everton will play boss Sean Dyche's former club Burnley at Goodison Park in the last 16 after winning 2-1 at Aston Villa.

James Garner's first-half opener and Dominic Calvert-Lewin's second goal in as many matches put Everton 2-0 up early in the second half before Boubacar Kamara reduced the deficit for Villa late on.


A lower league club is guaranteed a place in the quarter-finals after League Two side Mansfield were drawn to play League One Port Vale at Field Mill.


Championship high-flyers Ipswich will be optimistic of their chances of reaching the quarter-finals when they host Fulham.


League One Exeter City meanwhile will face Championship Middlesbrough for a play in the last eight after knocking out Premier League Luton Town on Tuesday.
