Harry Kane Reacts To Scoring A Third Hat-Trick Againt Bundesliga Rivals Borussia Dortmund.

Harry Kane continues his sensational form in the German Bundesliga, scoring another a hat-trick in his first appearance in the Der Klassiker, as Bayern Munich cruised to a 4-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund. 

The Der Klassiker in Germany, is equivalent to La Liga’s ‘El Clasico’ between Real Madrid and Barcelona, and Bayern have not lost to Dortmund in the league since 2018.

Unbeaten at home for more than a year, Dortmund were shocked by the supposedly weakened visiting side who were stung by a midweek German Cup (DFB-Pokal) elimination by third-division side FC Saarbruecken.

And Bayer Leverkusen’s 3-2 win at Hoffenheim on Saturday meant injury-hit Bavarians were five points behind Xabi Alonso’s side at kickoff.

Bayern got off to a lightning-quick start at Signal Iduna Park, with France defender Dayot Upamecano who was cleared to play just hours before the match after missing a month with a hamstring injury, headed home Leroy Sane's corner from close range inside five minutes. 

The Former Manchester City's winger then manufactured a second assist in the ninth minute, playing a perfect pass across the six-yard box for Kane to tap in.

Dortmund manager Edin Terzic made four changes early in the second half as his side hoped to chase the game but Bayern scored next.

Kingsley Coman's cross found Kane for a third before the marksman completed his hat-trick in the final minutes with an emphatic finish past Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.

The England international captain has now broken the all-time record for most goals in a player's first 10 Bundesliga appearances, finding the back of the net an impressive 15 times, with five assists.

After scoring three against Darmstadt last week, Kane has back-to-back hat-tricks in the Bundesliga. It is the third time in Bayern colours that the 30-year-old has hit a treble since joining from Tottenham in August.

The only negative on an otherwise perfect day for Bayern came in the 43rd minute when boss Thomas Tuchel was booked for arguing with the officials.

Speaking to Bundesliga.com Kane said: "It was a fantastic game all-round. 

"The way we started the game; to go two goals up, and we controlled it really well. In these big derby games, you have to give everything, and we did that today. To have the 4-0 in front of our away fans here is a special night."

The win sees the defending champions remain in second place, two points off high-flying leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayern are chasing a 12th consecutive Bundesliga title but next host Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday night, before welcoming Heidenheim to the Allianz Arena next Saturday.  

Meanwhile, fourth-placed Dortmund, who are home to Newcastle United in the Champions League on Tuesday night, are seven points off the top.
