Chelsea Sends Former Boss Antonio Conte A Shock Offer For A Return To Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have sent Antonio Conte a lucrative offer to return as boss, according to sensational reports.

Conte who won trophies as a manager with Chelsea, Juventus, and Inter Milan, has not managed any club since leaving Tottenham Hotspur by mutual consent in March 2023 following a spell in charge that featured 24 defeats from 77 matches, winning 41 of the other 53.

La Repubblica says Conte could return to the Premier League and Chelsea, but whether he returns to the west London outfit remains to be seen.

He was in charge of the Blues between 2016 and 2018, and won the Premier League in his first season (2016/17), guiding them to a 93-point haul, winning 30 of their 38 games to win the title by seven points.

Despite losing the FA Cup final, they lifted that trophy 12 months later, but finishing in fifth in the 2017-18 Premier League and missing out on the Champions League meant that Conte's sacking under Roman Abramovich was inevitable.

The West London giants have already offered Conte a lucrative contract to replace current boss Mauricio Pochettino who is under fire this summer.

Pochettino has a contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2025 with an option for another year.

Chelsea have reached an EFL Cup final and FA Cup semi-final this season, but currently sit down in ninth position in the Premier League standings and are underdogs to achieve qualification for next season's European football.

Although, Conte is reportedly more interested in securing a job back in his homeland with the likes of AC Milan and Napoli said to be considering an appointment for the 54-year-old at the moment.
