Cristiano Ronaldo’s Breaks RECORD Again, As His COMMENT On Kylian Mbappé’s Post Move To Madrid, Is Now The MOST LIKED Instagram Comment Ever.

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to set new records both on and off the pitch, and this time around, his comment on Kylian Mbappé’s post following his move to Real Madrid is now the most liked social media comment ever.

The comment has 4.1M likes on the photo-sharing platform (Instagram) as at the time of writing.

Mbappe on Monday completed a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to join the Spanish giants Real Madrid. The deal has been a long time coming in more ways than one.

This happened just two days after Carlo Ancelotti's men won the Champions League title for a record 15th-time. They also clinched the double, having also been crowned LaLiga champions for the 33rd time.

Mbappe penned a five-year deal, including a reported £85million signing-on bonus, and the Frenchman's annual salary could be worth up to £17m.

He scored 256 goals in 308 games for PSG since joining them in 2018 from Ligue 1 rivals Monaco.

In a post announcing his move, Mbappe wrote: “A dream come true. So happy and proud to join the club of my dream. Nobody can understand how excited I am right now.

“Can’t wait to see you, Madridistas, and thanks for your unbelievable support. Hala Madrid!”

Mbappé has been linked with the Spanish giant for years, and his Instagram post included photos from when he visited Madrid in 2012 at the age of 14.

It happened that five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo responded to the post soon after, wishing Mbappe well, as he believes the 25-year-old will “light up” the Bernabeu.

The current Al Nassr striker Ronaldo, who produced 581 goal contributions in 438 games for Real between 2009 and 2018, wrote on Instagram: "My turn to 👀 Excited to see you light up the Bernabéu. ⚽️💪 #HalaMadrid," the 39-year-old commented.

Real Madrid has lacked a true heir to Ronaldo's throne ever since he left and signed with Juventus in 2018, before rejoining his old club Man United and then his controversial move to the Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.

Mbappe is believed to have idolized Ronaldo from an early age. The 2018 World Cup winner's father revealed to France Football in 2016 that Mbappe is a Madridista and idolizes the Portuguese legend so much .

"He is a Real Madrid fan and his idol is Cristiano Ronaldo. He used to spend hours watching videos [of Ronaldo] on the internet," Kylian Mbappe's father said at the time.

Mbappe will link up with his new teammates, Vinicius jr, Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo and co on July 1 when his PSG deal officiay expires.

His first competitive match for Real Madrid is in the UEFA Super Cup against Europa League winners Atalanta on August 14 in Warsaw Poland where he can lift his first trophy for the club.

He is currently gearing up to captain France at Euro 2024.

It is understood that he also wanted to represent France at the Paris Olympics. But he was left out of yesterday’s provisional squad, with manager Thierry Henry saying: “Clubs have the power to say yes or no.”
