Riyad Mahrez Has Now Become The Ninth African Player to Score 50+ Goals In The Premier League.

The Manchester City winger and the Algerian national team captain, "Riyad Mahrez" has become the first Algerian 🇩🇿 and Ninth African player to score 50 Premier League goals in the competition’s history....

Riyad Mahrez who transfered from former club and premier league champions Leicester City in July 2018 to join Pep Guardiola's side Man City on a transfer fee of £60Million, making him the most expensive African footballer at the time, as he signed a five year deal, claiming that he wants to win the Champions League with the club.

Mahrez scored the last goal for the citizens in their premier league match against  Burnley at the Turf Moor stadium. The match ended 4-1 in favour of the away side Man City with two goals from Gabriel Jesus who seems to be a regular starter for the team now replacing the injured Aguero, one goal from Rodri and Mahrez completing the scoring on the night.

Mahrez has went on to score 17 goals for Manchester City in 61 appearance accross all competitions.
Mahrez has now becomes the ninth player from Africa to score 50+ goals in the Premier league since his move from french French club Le Havre to join Leicester city in 2014, joining the likes of;

Rihad Mahrez also captained the Algeria national team at the just concluded African Cup Of Nations hosted in Egypt, as the Algeria team emerge champions of the competition for a second time and first since 1990.
