Barcelona Have Announced The Emergency Signing Of Martin Braithwaite From Leganes.

Barcelona have announced the emergency signing of Leganes forward Martin Braithwaite after activating his €18m release clause....

Born 5th June 1991 in the port city of Esbjerg, Denmark, Martin Braithwaite Christensen is a tireless striker who is coming to FC Barcelona after making a strong impression in his one year at Leganés, already scored 6 goals in 19 appearance in the La Liga this season.

He was voted the January Player of the Month for Leganes

La Liga granted Barcelona the permission last Monday, to sign a striker outside of the transfer window due to the injury crises that have affected the team.

The 28-year-old Danish forward, agreed to a four-and-a-half year contract until 2024 with a release clause of €300 million. He will now replace the injured Ousmane Dembele, as he is set to partner Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann going forward for Barcelona.

Leganes director Martin Ortega says that rules are unfair following the departure of Braithwaite from the Estadio Municipal de Butarq;

"We believe that the regulation is not fair and Barcelona has benefited from it. The only injured party is Leganés. We want to raise our voice. We are in a situation of enormous and serious Damage."
